Tell Me Why
Took a bath in the ocean,
and there's no towel in sight.
It sure felt good
but I wish I could
manage to dry by tonight.
It's easy to dry off my head,
and tail feathers dry if they're spread.
Can you tell me why
my armpits won't dry
'til I hold my wings over my head?
Sound the Alarm!
On the alert!
I'm not dessert
for hungry things
with fur or wings.
They’re after me
and I must flee
if I’m to see
my family.
I must be fast
or must outlast
the chase
that's meant to be.
If I don't run
it won’t be fun
to see
what’s left of me!
Little Twister
This sign is placed
to give me space
to scratch my big behind.
It's big enough
to hang there tough...
a wondrous thing to find.
It even has a guide
so I can scratch just so.
I'll rub from side to side
and know how fast to go.
