A journey by Watson to purchase a Christmas gift for Holmes puts in motion a scheme to finally rid the underworld of Sherlock Holmes. It seems as though the cold hand of the late James Moriarty is poised to snuff out Holmes in one final act of revenge...and yet, the Moriarty we knew is dead. Holmes has to use all his powers of deduction to identify who is behind a callous attempt on his life which costs the lives of many.

Startled by discovering the identity of the person seeking to destroy him, Holmes must now attempt a grand deception in order to try and defeat someone with an intellect equal to his own. Holmes must orchestrate an intriguing charade which leaves Watson's nerves in tatters as the scheme unfolds to its final climax.
