Be Careful What You Wish For

Elisabeth Whitfield is having one doozy of a mid-life crisis. Her adult son doesn't need her anymore. She and her architect husband, the revered Owen Whitfield, don't seem to connect the way they used to, and she's afraid Owen is having an affair with a younger colleague. Almost worse, upper-class Elisabeth has become obsessed with a down-and-dirty tabloid TV news show, The Whole Truth. Having given up her own budding career as a broadcast journalist to marry Owen, she's acutely envious of gorgeous, seductive Gypsy Dugan, the superstar anchor of the show. Gypsy is everything Elisabeth wishes she could be. Gypsy's life is the road not taken.

But Elisabeth's own life is about to take an extraordinary turn.

Following a near-fatal car wreck, the Elisabeth Whitfield who awakens in the hospital is a new woman—in a younger, sexier body. Most mystifying of all, the body is familiar. Right before the crash, it belonged to Gypsy Dugan, who was driving the other car. Now Elisabeth's own body is just down the hall in a coma.

Fate has magically given Elisabeth a second chance at everything she thought she had thrown away. Passion, fame, glamour—with death threats thrown in for good measure. Can she take advantage of this strange gift and step into Gypsy's life, which comes with sexy news reporter Charles Casey attached? Or will she waste this opportunity, as well?

As Elisabeth tries to put her past behind her and forget Owen, she finds that Gypsy's life, too, is anything but trouble-free. Will getting everything she ever desired cost Elisabeth everything that really matters?
