Sunny has grown used to her older brother Horace's yawning crying. But she refuses to adjust to the notion that the physically deformed and mentally retarded twenty-one year old will have to be retired to the Georgia State Insane Asylum. She's the one who takes care of him and she's the one who will save him from the family hauling him off to Milledgeville—no matter what she has to do.
