Located in China's Harbin-Daqing-Qiqihar Industrial Corridor, Daqing is among the younger cities of the nation. Its name means "Great Celebration." Founded in 1959, it was originally a settlement for petroleum workers. Daqing has the largest oil field in China. The crude oil reserves in Daqing amount to 5.6 billion tons, while the natural gas reserves total 57.4 billion cubic meters.
