This work chronicles of flights of the starship Navigator and the life and times of the alien's adopted human, Lt. Ben Johnson. A World War II pilot, Johnson is intercepted by a starship in 1945 while he is was flying over the north Pacific.

After a short introduction to the alien society, Johnson opts to remain with Navigator's crew. Eventually he is trained and travels through time and the universe with his new friends. He even finds love and starts a family.

The adventures found in this book might challenge people to think beyond their every-day lives. This book has its evil characters, but in the end, good triumphs. Be sure to read the second in this series, "Earth Again."
