David Dolephene discovers he is the last direct, male descendant of Francois Evreux, one-time governor of El Hierro in the Canary Islands, an the infamous pirate, Dolphin. Traveling to El Hierro he meets twins, Alejandro and Concepcion, to embark on an attempt to recover hidden pirate treasure to save his inherited plantation from an unscrupulous politician.
