Marc Owens, aged seventeen, has been raised by his father, an abusive man who is bitter about the death many years before of his wife at the hands of a black man. Marc's high school life is in turmoil: he is uncertain of the future and has fallen for a Mexican girl who goes to school with him. His only hope is to claw his way back to acceptance...
