This e-book seems to demonstrate the best kind of "state of the art" picture of where a management concept has come from and where it is going. The first paper ( by Akao and Mazur), although not officially a literature review, is a real background review of QFD - its origins, state of play and future with the support of the key literature from its inception - it is a really good introduction to the topic.
