Rural entrepreneurship is becoming established as an area of special study. The papers published in this ebook reflect a growing interest in the topic and have been selected from the 3rd Rural Entrepreneurship Conference held in Dumfries in October 2004. Although there is still an academic debate about whether rural issues can be separated from those of city regions the Guest Editor suggests that rural entrepreneurship does have distinctive characteristics that make it worthy of special attention. Rural entrepreneurship is considered in this ebook in terms of human capital, financial capital and social capital.
