Set in the Lower Ninth district of a New Orleans stricken by Katrina, two men are left stranded on the roof of their house, surrounded by floodwater and floating corpses. In the hours spent waiting for rescue, they battle intense thirst, feverish hallucinations and their own tempestuous pasts.
