Despite the abundance of biomass, it is a resource that is generally underutilised. Energy from biomass can be achieved sustainably in the form of biofuels, biorefineries and energy recovery from waste biomass. However, the obstacles that have prevented these bio-energy applications from making a greater contribution to renewable heat, power and transport are multifarious, including both technology and management issues. In the preparation of this e-book we aimed to receive and generate multi-disciplinary research that address the complex task of managing and delivering successful bio-energy solutions through innovation to maintain efficiency and sustainability. The e-book's topics of interest which include rural development, hybrid biomass systems and fertigation.
