Mencken's The Philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche (1908) was the first complete exposition of Nietzsche's thought written in English. It provides a coherent and systematic picture of the tapestry that is Nietzsche's philosophy. In several analyses Mencken almost seems to make Nietzsche's point better than Nietzsche does.
