It's the first poetry book including 551 poems or tanka, Japanese short verse byTakuboku Ishikawa. He writes poems from perspectives of daily life. Takuboku depicts common daily routine rather than spectacular scenery, which were popular among other poets. His poems can be divided into two categories; one is the life after moving to Tokyo and the other is his reminiscence of his birthplace and Hokkaido where he used to work.
