This pack is the result of work undertaken across the three Primary Care Groups (now Trusts) of East London - Newham, Tower Hamlets and City & Hackney. The PCGs, working towards Trust status, were seeking more clarity and precision of management roles and responsibilities. In response to this demand, a Management Standards Project was set up in April 2000 to attempt to map and define management standards across the area. The outcome of the project is this Development Resource and Grading Pack for Management and Administrative Staff in Primary Care. Although first written with an inner city emphasis, and with inner city managers in mind, it has now been amended to make it applicable to managers nationally. It also offers the opportunity for extension to primary care and community management roles in the future.
