Honore De Balzac may only have lived for 51 years but his work lives on through such vital classics as Albert Savarus. Written in 1836 and part of a series of novels known as La Comédie Humaine (The Human Comedy) which parodies and depicts French society in the period of the Restoration and the July Monarchy (1815 – 1848).
