《孟子》一书记录了孟子的言行，是儒家的经典之一，和《论语》《大学》《中庸》合称"四书"。孟子名轲，战国时邹（今山东邹县）人，后世将他和孔子并称为"孔孟"，有"亚圣"之称。 《孟子》全书共七篇。孟子主张行"仁政"，成"王道"。书中提出的 "富贵不能淫，贫贱不能移，威武不能屈"的大丈夫精神，"民贵君轻"的思想，都是中国古代珍贵的思想遗产。
《孟子（下）》是下册，精选了从《公孙丑下》篇到《尽心下》篇的经典语段。
