But the other part of me knew that nobody, not even an IIC agent, deserved to have his fingernails ripped out by their roots.
Henry Trevalu travels the galaxy doing business on behalf of his family's spice company. A devout Catholic, he firmly believes in extending the values of compassion and forgiveness towards all.
Despite this, Henry's penchant for misadventure has earned him a fair few enemies along the way. The latest of these is one Bramwell Burke, a straitlaced IIC agent who attempted to return Henry's friend Logan to indentured prostitution and jail Henry for rescuing him.
Imagine Henry and Logan's surprise to now find Agent Burke stowing away in their ship's engine room, on the run from brutal alien space pirates, traumatized and in urgent need of medical attention...
A Gospel of Stars is a darkly humorous space adventure in the tradition of TV serials such as Firefly. Respectful of the identity and faith of its aroace protagonist, this novella is for lovers of whump, dark humor, hurt/comfort, forced proximity, and platonic friendships spanning the breadth of the galaxy.
