The SANE Guide to Drugs is a resource for people with a mental illness who use street drugs, alcohol, or tobacco.The Guide has been written to help you understand the relationship between drugs and mental illness and to help you recognise whether you have a problem with them. It also contains useful information about the support you can get and what you can do about changing the way you use drugs, so that you can get on with your life again. (The term 'drugs' is used in this guide to cover alcohol and tobacco as well as street drugs such as cannabis, Ecstasy, K, LSD, speed and heroin.) The guide will also be helpful for family, friends and health workers as it provides information on drugs and mental illness and how to support someone change their drug use.
