An outlandish internet date leads inexorably to tragedy.

Myles and Brad are two advertising men, business partners and internet dating partners. They have discovered that the best results in internet dating come in threes. When Myles has a date, Brad will bump into his friend 'by chance', stick around and do and say things that will effectively make his friend look sexy. The favour is returned when it's Brad's turn.

Until one night, Myles dates Gina. And instead of talking his friend up and leaving early, Brad makes a play for her – and the two men have a falling out. Sensing that her date and his friend have been playing a game, Gina outsmarts them with a sexual game of her own. The resulting mayhem in a basement hotel toilet leaves the two men with their pride in tatters, but their curiosity and rivalry piqued still further. The emotions unleashed set all three professional singles on a course headed for a violent outcome none of them could have foreseen.

The Internet Date captures the diverse love lives of five people living in London just as the recession really starts to dig its teeth in: men and women confronting their early and advancing middle-age with wit and bad behaviour, fear and confusion, and just occasionally a little honesty (which often proves more disastrous than the truth), decency and compassion.
