《文心雕龙》为古代文学理论著作。作者刘勰。成书于南朝齐和帝中兴元、二年(501～502)间。它是中国文学理论批评史上第一部有严密体系的﹐"体大而虑周"（章学诚《文史通义·诗话篇》）的文学理论专著。魏晋时期，中国的文学理论有了很大的发展。到南北朝，逐渐形成繁荣的局面。文学创作和文学理论批评在其历史发展中所积累起来的丰富经验，既为《文心雕龙》的出现准备了条件，也在《文心雕龙》中得到了反映。
