The Federation and the Offland Alliance have been at war for generations. Zizi hates the Federation because they rescued her against her will from the Offlands. She hates the brother who deserted her after they were separated by an explosion, their telepathic link was her lifeline and she adored him. When they are reunited they are strangers to each other.
