Michael's mother is tired of paying his bills just to hear him playing video games. Michael dropped out of college and moved back home. She tells Michael to get a job, and he must listen if he doesn't want to end up living on the streets.

A popular bistro in town is hiring, so Michael applies. He gets the job, but then he gets a little more than expected.

Michael is pulled into the past and becomes Sapphire, a woman from the early 1930s with no skills beyond her soulful voice. How will Michael adjust to life during prohibition and an economic depression? Will he sink or swim? Will anyone come along to help him find his way?
