Annabelle Stevens, recent college graduate, is the only child of Delmar Stevens, multi-billionaire owner of Stevens Oil, Inc., and his wife, Rosemarie. Annabelle is learning the business down in accounting when the feds show up, arrest her father, his top attorney, and a genius consultant on charges of conspiracy to build a weapon of mass destruction based on fracking technology and capable of generating earthquakes or volcanoes at chosen places around the world. Handcuffed, on his way out the door, Delmar tells his secretary that Annabelle is now in charge of the company, and one of the other attorneys is her main subordinate. Annabelle's adventure begins with an exploration of her father's files and quickly develops into a complex mixture of high finance, falsified drilling reports, criminal investigation, weapons training, hate mail, and eventually a question of whether to testify in court against her father, a move that would guarantee she is now CEO, controlling vast wealth and power, enough to fuel political ambitions.
