Shel Weissman is an educator, consultant, writer and program administrator. He is the author of twelve books including the popular seller Brooklyn Sunset. He began his career as a teacher in Bedford Stuyvesant Brooklyn, and moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico where he spent several years in the State Department of Education. After earning his doctorate degree he moved with his family to Northern California and became Professor of Education.
Growing up in the tough streets of Brownsville, Brooklyn, he learned the principles of family devotedness, friendship, kindheartedness, and honoring community. He began writing stories at an early age and advanced as a grant writer, project administrator, and program evaluator.
He and his wife, Claire, have lived happily in the same Northern California community for over fifty years.
This book reflects relatable characters in search of truth and understanding in a harsh, complex environment. The author has the unique ability to write about people in a candid and persuasive way.
