Being claimed was not on my to-do list.
When I stepped through the mirror portal into Wit's End this morning, my goal was to make sure Bea's wedding went off without a hitch. She won't admit it, but she has always wanted a fairytale wedding just like I have. Imagine my surprise when a gargoyle gatecrashes the reception, then makes a scene trying to claim me.
I try to convince him he is wrong. When that didn't work, I explained all the reasons I couldn't give up everything I've worked for to move to a tiny sanctuary town in the Tennessee mountains. Every objection was met with irritating rationality.
I know in my gut that if I give this hunky gargoyle an inch he will claim me ... and would that be so bad?
