Cats à la Mode: Murder, Matchmaking, and Office Romance

Life with humans is a mixed bag, especially when they drag you into their schemes. Take Gran and Scarlett, for example. When they decided to take their "Dear Gabi" agony column on the road, it was supposed to be a simple matchmaking mission to fix broken hearts. Naturally, Dooley and I—your loyal emotional support animals—had no choice but to tag along.

Before we knew it, we found ourselves at Advantage Publishing, where Gran and Scarlett had been hired as senior interns (don't ask me how), and we were the ones expected to fix everyone's emotional messes. Our "clients" were Natalie Ferrara, the jilted woman expecting her boss's baby, and Tom Mitchell, a lovelorn office worker hoping to win the heart of his colleague. Office romance? Hardly my style—but let's face it, I'm a cat, and matchmaking isn't exactly in my wheelhouse.

Then, of course, things took a turn for the worse. A murder was committed in the middle of all the matchmaking chaos, and suddenly Gabi (a.k.a. Gran) was no longer the only one trying to mend broken hearts. I quickly slipped into detective mode, determined to figure out who was responsible before someone else turned up dead.

As if that wasn't enough, we had a few other issues to deal with: Tex's accidental redistribution of old love letters to Marge, causing embarrassment on a grand scale, and Harriet, who was set to grace the cover of Cat Life—until a surprise spot on her nose sent her into a panic.

Murder, matchmaking, office drama, and a dash of feline flair—what more could you want?
