Two women from completely different generations happen to meet in the paint aisle of a hardware store. One has been a widow for six years and is trying to get on with her life, the other, is a young upstart, a university graduate, who's trying to get established in the bed and breakfast industry.

Ariel Sharpton is fifty-eight years young. For over thirty-five years she's worked as the head sales associate in the paint department at a local hardware store. Widowed since fifty-two, she has been living on her own and... she's starting to feel lonely.

Jennifer Kierston, at the young age of twenty-six, watched her mother fight a courageous battle with cancer. During the tragedy her plans to become the owner of a bed and breakfast in the Haliburton Highlands region of Ontario, had to be put on hold for several years. Now, six years later, she's slowly rebuilding her life... and her future.

Can a chance meeting in the aisle of a hardware store turn into something more? Can two complete strangers have more in common than the loss of a loved one?
