Fire damage has left many areas of Hell Gate without the eyes of the city's network of cameras. Stalking the citizenry inside of those unobserved sections of the city is a monster from ancient myth.

On the case is Inspector Rianne Chase. A woman with two serious problems. One, is that her partner, Inspector Jackson Gray, has made it abundantly clear he would like to be more than just a friend and colleague. And two, is the fact that she has a demon eating away at her humanity.
