In the little town of Willow Hollow, every Halloween night, a mysterious figure known as The Lantern Keeper lights hundreds of glowing jack-o'-lanterns across the old cobblestone streets. No one knows who the Lantern Keeper is or where the lanterns come from — they simply appear, flickering with warm, magical light.

This year, siblings Emma (12) and Max (9) are determined to follow the Lantern Keeper and solve the mystery. Armed with costumes, a flashlight, and a bag of candy, they sneak away from the town festival. But the deeper they follow the trail of lanterns, the stranger the night becomes — streets twist into places they've never seen before, shadows seem to whisper, and the pumpkins glow with faces that change when they're not looking.

They soon discover the Lantern Keeper is not human at all — but a guardian spirit who keeps the veil between the living and the spirit world closed. This Halloween, the veil is thinner than ever, and mischievous spirits are slipping through.

Emma and Max must help the Lantern Keeper finish lighting the last and most important jack-o'-lantern before midnight... or Willow Hollow will be haunted until next Halloween.
