Vojislav Deric, born on 2 November 1938 in Zaplanik (Trebinje, Bosnia and Herzegovina) to the family of a teacher. He completed the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism in Sarajevo. He published nine collections of poems and two novels, Boomerang Never Forgets (Belgrade, 2002), It was Summer (Belgrade, 2003), Pickers of the Distance-idutne e durimatene (bilingual, verses were translated to Roma language by Alija Krasnii, Belgrade, 2003), The Sun and the Gate (Belgrade, 2006), Convulsions of the Dawn (Belgrade, 2006), Spool of Tears (Belgrade, 2006), Splinters of Time (Belgrade, 2010), The Plastic Colour of Light (Sidney, 2010) The Dance of the Flickering Flame (Sidney) (translated into English language by Arianne Darmanin); A verse that Travels through Space ( translated int English language by Svetlana Jannace Deric), the novels In front of The Sun, Behind the Moon (Sidney, 2013) and His Majesty, the Human (Sidney, 2017) (translated into English language by Mia Dragoje), "The Patina of Shine" (2014) He enjoys drawing and painting (oil, acrylic, ink, and graphics). He lives and creates in Melbourne.
