Romance was never part of Revna's plan. But then again, neither was stealing a dragon egg.
The elders of Revna's crow-shifter murder have given her an impossible mission: she must trick her way into the notorious dokgaebee fortress by any means necessary. Enter Seonwoo, the hot-headed mafia captain who's got a big mouth, a big club, and a big...well, you know. But when Revna finally gets into the fortress, she finds a dragon egg, and suddenly everything changes.
After a lifetime of loyalty to the Dokgaebee Mafia, Seonwoo makes one slip, and now everything's falling apart.
When Revna steals the dragon egg from Cheolsu, Seonwoo receives an impossible ultimatum—kill Revna or pay the price for his betrayal. But when Seonwoo finally catches his ex-lover, he quickly realizes his boss may not be telling him the whole truth about his plans for the egg.
Now, the two would-be lovers-turned-enemies are caught up in a paranormal version of Romeo and Juliet, complete with zombies, demons, and a very angry baby dragon.
An extremely old and powerful god named Druj is planning to use the dragon egg to resurrect itself, and then likely destroy the world. Like it or not, it's up to Revna and Seonwoo take a portal-hopping adventure around the world to keep the egg safe. If they can just keep from strangling each other, they might manage to stop the apocalypse.
The Dokgaebee Mafia series is a collection of one-off paranormal romance stories set within a larger, overarching plot. Each book follows a different couple and ends on a "happily ever after" for their romance. It is possible to enjoy the characters' journey to finding love without reading preceding books. However, the overarching plot will be more enjoyable if you start with the first book in the series: Spontaneous Fire.
