Rina Spencer, 27, Free-lance writer from Manhattan, New York comes to Southern California to spend time with her dying mother Rose Spencer who lives with Rina's older Susannah. It is during Rina's visit that she becomes acquainted with Marcus Granger, 27, former law student who is one of the six bachelors on a romance reality show called "Love at First Sight" being filmed at a house adjacent to her sister's.. For the next few months, Rina and Marcus form a strong friendship bond, supporting each other during their journeys of finding love and accepting death.

As Rina's mother approaches the end of her life, she drops a bombshell that has her four children, Rina, Susannah and twin brothers, Randall and Scott searching for answers. She tells them that their father Frank Spencer, a NY firefighter, did not die on 9/11/01. As the story unfolds, the Spencer family unravels the mystery behind their father's death and is forced to face the truth.

Along with coping with her mother's death and recent shocking revelation about her father, Rina also finds herself struggling with her emerging romantic feelings toward Marcus Granger (even though she has a live-in boyfriend back in New York) and must remind herself everyday that he is "not my bachelor."

Not My Bachelor is a beautifully crafted novel that resonates with readers on multiple levels. It is a touching and insightful exploration of love, family, and the courage to face life's most challenging moments. This book is a must-read for anyone seeking a story that is both emotionally rich and profoundly human.
