The citadel has fallen. The council is ash. But the chains of the mountain are not broken.
Mariselle has survived fire, flood, and the fury of the Inquisitors. Crowned savior by some, cursed as ruin by others, she is no longer just a girl with an ember in her chest—she is unmaking itself, the power that can tear chains apart or shatter a city entirely.
Yet victory comes with a price. The mountain stirs, its ancient horror clawing free of the abyss. The council's last rites have bound it to the city, and if it rises, it will devour everything—faith, flesh, and freedom alike.
To stop it, Mariselle must lead a city that cannot decide whether to kneel to her or destroy her. Her allies are few: a shadow-bound outcast who will bleed for her cause, and a sister who may yet betray her. Against them stands a world that calls her crown and curse in the same breath.
Chains break. Towers fall. And in the storm that follows, Mariselle must choose whether she will burn as savior, rule as queen, or rise as unmaking.
The mountain will not wait. Neither will destiny.
