In a small Georgia town, one woman's fight for her land becomes the fight for her heart.

When aerial photographer Regret James crash-lands in a secluded Georgia pasture in the early '90s, the last thing he expects is to be rescued by a fiercely protective widow with a rifle and a young daughter. Trudy Sandlin has enough trouble—poachers on her land, a failing family farm, and a loan officer circling like a vulture—without a mysterious stranger refusing a hospital and asking too many questions about the land she's sworn to defend.

But the more she nurses him back to health, the more she senses the danger following him is bigger than either of them—and it may already be here. Caught between her distrust of outsiders and a pull she can't explain, Trudy must decide if letting him in will save her family or destroy everything she's fought to protect.
