1950s, the beginning of television. Children's shows are king, with their exuberant hosts, antic clowns and adorable puppets. Lots and lots of puppets. But one show is even more popular than all the others, starting that favorite of children all over America: Ratty Batty!
​​​​​​​Backstage, though, the puppet master is odd, the clown is a drunk, and the puppet is hated and despised as ugly, obnoxious and intolerable—but somehow the show stays on the air, making fortunes for everyone involved.
One intrepid reporter wants to find out why.
