Over the last year, Lewis has learned better control of his magic, but he still doesn't know the full extent of what it can do or what he is. He has been named an Adept and has begun taking care of requests, but when a group of bandits see what he is, rumors begin to spread of a mage with strange magic. These rumors bring questions from the court of Betula, as well as drawing the interest of the older Prince of Ferax, who has been missing for some time. The prince has always been fascinated by magic, and he has finally learned more about it than he could ever dream, but the source of this knowledge has plans for him and for Lewis.
