When journalist Clara Hart comes home to the small town of Maplewood to cover its famous Christmas festival, she expects twinkling lights, cheerful traditions, and maybe enough charm to fill her article. What she doesn't expect is Daniel Whitaker; a quiet, steadfast local who seems as much a part of Maplewood as the towering spruce in the town square.
At first, Clara keeps her distance. After all, she's only passing through, and her world is deadlines and deadlines alone. But as the days of the festival unfold; through lantern light, snowy evenings, and the tender hush of a gazebo under falling snow; Clara begins to see Maplewood differently. More than garlands and cocoa stands, the town holds something she's been missing: warmth, belonging... and perhaps even love.
Daniel has always carried Maplewood on his shoulders, never expecting anyone to lighten the weight. Yet with Clara's laughter echoing beside him, the town feels brighter, and for the first time, he wonders if he's found someone worth sharing both the work and the wonder.
As Christmas draws near and the festival lights glow their brightest, Clara and Daniel must decide: will this spark fade when the booths close, or has Maplewood given them more than a fleeting holiday romance?
