This book is a follow up to the author's first book Mr. Brown, Sadie and ME which is about a little boy named Brian ( about 7-8 years old) that gets to know a very old man in his neighborhood. Originally he is scared of old people but soon discovers many wonderful things about MR. Brown. Brian also starts to walk his dog and learns many things about becoming responsible, including picking up dog waste!
In this book, Mr. Brown dies suddenly and Brian has a multitude of complex feeling. He learns to share these with his parents and gains gentle understanding of the subject of death.
The author, who was a school counselor, knows the value of children learning about this touchy subject. It is gently written and all families would benefit from this book.
