I was writing memories about my life. I never liked writing. I did go through English classes when I was in school, but I didn't do well. My oldest daughter Mandy encouraged me to write down my memories. I did agree, I did some thinking about it, made some notes. That was probably ten to twelve years ago. After I knew that my wife, Ernestine was not going to last much longer, I used some of the free time while being her caregiver to make some notes and try and decide how I could accomplish this. I got some good encouragement from my sister Muriel. After Ernestine passed away, a few months later come to the conclusion that I needed to finish these memories before my time came to a close. So, my reason for this book was my recollection of grandchildren asking how I and their grandmother met. Now I understand why they would ask. So I gave them my best answer at the time. I reflected on how some of my sisters and brothers and I had never questioned our own parents about their courtship and marriage. So I have tried to give as best as I can my early life how Ernestine and I met. Our marriage lasted for sixty-five years and was two days short of five months. I am hopeful that this will be some family history that will be interesting and helpful in understanding the makeup of families. From my experience, it is GOD that has guided us through our journey on this earth for this short time. I have to give Him GOD all the glory and praise for our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
