This is a deeply personal and inspirational memoir, capturing my journey from childhood into adulthood, including struggles in Liberia which were survived through resilience, faith, and triumph. A compelling narrative, told with depth, emotion, and reflection with powerful themes of perseverance, faith, and transformation.
This book, "Diary of A Pastor's Wife ", was birthed in the small West African country of Liberia. I was born to a single mother who had me at the age of 14. My mother was a strong, hard-working, and courageous woman, well known in the community for her public service work. When she had me, she had no idea how to care for a child, so her aunt, with whom she was living at the time, helped raise me.
My father was initially nowhere to be found, just like some typical African men who impregnate young girls and then walk away. Eventually, my father resurfaced. At one point, in anger he decided to place a curse on me, saying that I would be nothing, that I wouldn't be worthy...that I would be a prostitute.
This book walks through my childhood, with its multiple challenges and traumatic experiences, through my teen years including survival through the horrific Liberian Civil War, and into my adulthood when I married the one who promised me so much..but gave so little.
