This audiobook is narrated by a digital voice.
The ceramic mug slipped from Elena Rosewood's fingers, shattering against the hardwood floor of Moonbeam Café as the vision hit her like a lightning bolt. In her mind's eye, she saw him—tall, dark-haired, with kind eyes the color of storm clouds. He was standing in a library, reaching for a book on the top shelf, and when he turned toward her in the vision, their eyes met across time and space.
"Elena! Are you okay?" Her best friend Sarah rushed over, carefully stepping around the broken porcelain and spreading coffee.
Elena blinked, returning to the present moment. The busy café buzzed around her—the hiss of the espresso machine, the chatter of afternoon customers, the jazz music playing softly overhead. But her heart was still racing from the intensity of what she'd seen.
"I'm fine," she managed, though her voice betrayed her. "Just clumsy."
Sarah gave her a knowing look. At twenty-six, Elena had been having psychic visions since she was a child, and Sarah had been her closest friend since high school. She could read Elena's tells better than anyone.
"That wasn't clumsiness," Sarah said quietly, grabbing napkins from the nearby counter. "That was a vision, wasn't it?"
Elena nodded reluctantly as they both knelt to clean up the mess. "A strong one. Stronger than I've had in months."
"Want to talk about it?"
