An adolescent unloved by parents too preoccupied with their scientific research, and who moreover hide an obscure family secret from him, Michel is sent to the home of a terrorizing uncle, who owns a ranch in Montana. There he will learn to ride a horse and will share the rough life of a cowboy for a year. But he will also discover the explanation for this shameful secret that is tearing his family apart on both sides of the Atlantic.
