A secretive group of the wealthiest individuals on the planet are planning a catastrophic event to wipe out the world's poorest and claim the planet's resources for themselves. Unfortunately, nobody knows who's involved or where they are based. A few brave whistleblowers who dare to even consider speaking out are eliminated without mercy. Events are coming to a climax and only Oddball and his Aequum team have the expertise and the audacity to take on 'The Authority' in their own backyard.

Harriet Lewis – known to all just as Harry – is probably the best hacker on planet earth. Her new assistant, Nick Matthews, is as anxious to learn from her as he is to get closer to her – much closer. Thanks to Harry's hacking, the Aequum team get a lead which takes them to California. There, they have to rely on subterfuge and a complicated series of bus journeys to discover where The Authority is based. And it's not at all where anybody might have guessed.

Having discovered the location, Oddball's task is to call in the cavalry, but life is never that simple. He has to discover if there are other bases, and he has only minutes to do it before he and his team will be at the receiving end of America's most lethal ordnance which, right at that moment was flying towards them at speed.
