"Everybody loves when a circus comes to town ... but nobody expects it to bring murder with it. You can rest assured that the Quilters Club – that tiny quilting bee comprised of Maddy Madison and her three BFFs – can solve it. But I promise they will keep you guessing."
—Hollis George, noted editor and anthologist
The little Indiana town of Caruthers Corners stages a Crazy Carnival, with a big top and acrobats and even an elephant, but things go awry when Barffy the Red-Nosed Clown drops dead in the center ring. Can Maddy Madison and her fellow members of the Quilters Club – Lizzie, Cookie, and Bootsie – solve this puzzling death? Is the murderer a clown with green hair? Or a suspicious Ferris wheel operator? Or a "Lost Boy" with a grudge? Or a sideshow performer with three eyes? Leave it to the Quilters Club to deliver another satisfying cozy mystery.
Marjory Sorrell Rockwell says needlecraft arts – quilting, crocheting, knitting – are pastimes every woman can appreciate. And she particularly loves quiltmaking. "It's like painting with cloth," she says. But when not quilting she writes mysteries about a Midwestern sleuth not unlike herself, a middle-aged lady with an unpredictable family and loyal friends. And she's a big fan of watermelon pie.
