Sixteen-year-old Kadyia Aranel dreams of becoming a Dragon Tamer- awakening a dragon and protecting the world just as so many others had done before her. Entering her fourth year at the Academy, she and her closest friends get ready for the biggest test of their life. But when the test goes wrong, and friends die, she suddenly realizes that being a Dragon Tamer is not all it's cracked up to be. Academy rules are changed, teachers are fired, and everything she's ever been taught is now being tested.
