April Ann "Shorty" Simmons, the director of Shorty's Pup Rescue, was happy with the life she had made for herself. She was confident and fun-loving, with a soft spot for dogs. She didn't need a man in her life, but she wouldn't turn the right one away... or that's what she thought.

Handyman and perpetual groomsman, Mason Randall Sellers was tired of being alone. Watching all of his friends find their life partners was only making that feeling of loneliness worse.
