In a dusty antique shop in Cairo, historian (Dr. Evelyn Carter) stumbles upon a faded parchment hidden inside an old book. The map depicts an uncharted island with cryptic symbols pointing to the lost treasure of King Amarath, a mythical ruler said to have hoarded unimaginable riches before his kingdom vanished. Recognizing its significance, she seeks out Captain James "Mac" MacAllister, a rugged ex-mercenary with a knack for survival, to lead the expedition.

Mac recruits two more members. Despite their clashing personalities, the four form an uneasy alliance. A violent storm wrecks their ship, forcing them to dock on a remote island where superstitious villagers warn of a curse upon anyone who seeks the treasure.
