Killion's son Dante is now grown, married, has a son, and is finishing his degree in Light Engineering. Killion is thinking his problems with the evil Adar may finally be behind him. But as Dante's marriage starts to fall apart, Killion begins to wonder if Adar may be behind his son and daughter-in-law's troubles.

Despite living in a City of Light, which should repel those with evil intent, Adar has found a way to infiltrate the city and take revenge on Killion and Dante by creating a serious teleporter accident with Killion's grandson—leading to a shocking result. Compounding matters, what follows next is a teleporter war with Adar and his followers.

Killion now must decide how to deal with this new state of affairs and how to fight back against Adar—and keep his family together at the same time. As events occur, Killion feels he is failing on both fronts.
