Riding with his allies the Bamulas and Livia, Conan of Cimmeria arrived in Daynt, a border town between Kush and Stygia. Immediately suspicious of the overly kind of townsfolk, Conan indulged little in their hospitality and later scoured the streets in secret. Returning to discover his suspicions confirmed and his drugged companions being carted away, Conan hewed into the townsfolk, only to be overwhelmed by sheer numbers and tossed into a cage. At dawn, Conan and the captives were presented to sorceress Athyr-Bast as slaves, and though he resisted mightily, the sorceress' magics proved too much for the Cimmerian. When Conan next awoke, he found himself taken to Stygian city of Kheshatta and thrust into a gladiatorial arena to fight for the amusement of its cruel lords, including the nefarious grand sorcerer Thoth-Amon...
